“Emporium Blossom 2010: Scent of Orchid Splendour”

The Emporium Shopping Complex together with the Horticultural Science Society of Thailand, The Royal Horticultural Society of Thailand under Royal Patronage, Department of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Extension, Sukhothai Orchid Association as well as The SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (SACICT) are to host “Emporium Blossom 2010: Scent of Orchid Splendour”, a phenomenal floral showcase of the years’ first bloom of Foxtail Orchid (Rhynchostylis gigantea) in Bangkok at The Emporium Shopping Complex.

The event includes competition of the various types of Foxtail Orchid (Rhynchostylis gigantea), a display to recreate the market that encircled a Sukhothai era palace, a showcase of heritage products of Si Satchanalai district such as wood-carving, Sangkhalok earthenware and terra cotta, hand-woven cloth, handmade gold ornaments of Sukhothai by skilled goldsmiths of the region as well as a demonstration of Sukhothai gold making and the ancient way of making perfume. Visitors are also invited to view a part of “Erb Princess Pa Collection”, which is an exclusive showcase of products made of various types of Thai flowers. Also on offer will be products made locally like scents and spa products among many others. The exhibition is open to the public free of charge and runs from 21 -31 January 2010 at The Emporium Shopping Complex.
